Brent Rushing, a graduate of Appalachian State University (BS Marketing) and North Carolina Agricultural & Technological State University (MS Industrial Engineering) has been in the battery business for twenty years. Brent started his career with Douglas Battery Manufacturing Company and worked his way to National Account Manager. He started Battery Tree in 2004.
In five short years Battery Tree has grown to become one of the largest battery distributors in North Carolina. He is president and owner of Battery Tree Inc. |

He has been part of the SLI battery aftermarket for over 40 years. Jim got
his start with Exide Battery in 1967 but created Electro Battery Systems in 1981. As
president and owner since Electro's inception, he has seen it change from a small regional
automotive aftermarket wholesale company to what it is today, a full line battery supplier,
covering multiple chemistries and markets with sales in North American and Europe. Mr.
Murray has also served on the advisory board of trustees for Lakeland State Bank and remains
active in many local community charities.

Mike Moeller, Secretary/Treasurer & founding

Mike Moeller, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, is a third generation
battery specialist who started his career in the industry in 1990 with Johnson Controls,
Inc. In 1992 Mike returned to the family business, Remy Battery Co., Inc., and now has a
shared ownership in the company and is acting President for Remy Battery. Mike has been involved
with BESA since 1999 and has acted as the organization’s Secretary/Treasurer since
the organization’s inception in 1999. |

Married to Kimberly in December 2000, has two children, William born in October 2007, and Addison born in April 2009. Luke grew up in the trucking industry with his family owning and operating Case Leasing & Rental, Inc. since the 1950’s. Shortly after college and the family selling Case Leasing in 2002, Luke started Tri-State Battery Inc. out of Fort Wayne, IN. After a successful start-up as a retail and local wholesale battery supplier he merged the business into BatteryXpress in 2004. Luke has also served for the last year on the BESA Marketing Committee.
